Kids’ Science & Engineering Day

4H PART Sciborgs got the opportunity to share their passion for robots with over 100 local area students the weekend of March 28. Ranging from kindergarten to middle school, the children were captivated with learning first-hand about the FIRST program. They got to do their own programming to help a robot get through a maze using the FLL’s Mindstorm software. They also got a close-up look at the team’s competition robot from last season. The smaller kids got to become robots for the day with their handmade robot control headbands.

There was a tremendous amount of interest in the 4H robotics summer camps around Whitman County. For more information or for a 2015 Summer Camp schedule, please contact Janet Schmidt at schmidtj@wsu.edu or 509-397-6290.
